The lights go off one by one.
I make no move.
Another light goes off somewhere behind me. I can hear it – it sounds more like a gunshot than a switch being flicked, but that suits me just fine.
Bam. Another light; then another, and another. Only one remains, and that light is directly above me.
“… So what am I supposed to do?” I whisper to no one in particular.
The silence deafens me, much more so than the sounds just moments before. That’s when I realise it.
“I’m all alone.”
The light goes out.
