Russell Crowe: Media friend, foe, or ho?

Did anyone else find it kind of amusing that Russell Crowe, who only three years ago was responsible for this media mess, which led to the suicidal death of Jack Marx's credibility and career, played a 'journalist' in the new film 'State of Play'?

Reuters did, though for other, more technical reasons.

russ just becomes more and more of a douche everyday. I'm sure he was a douche before his imminent fame, but at least the lack of fame and work ethic balanced out the egotism. His comments about the media at the State of Play premiere was just another level to his doucheyness.

I'm reading Jack Marx piece right now (can't believe I missed this in 2006). It's fricking hilarious.

Anyhoo, I don't know if you've seen the original BBC State of Play but I just cannot believe overweight hairy russ was cast to play John Simm's character...UGH!!!
